New Images Found at Local Estate Sale

More of Judge Shepherd's photographs surfaced at a local estate sale in South Denver area.

I purchased two of the six photographs available for sale, including one of President Franklin D. Roosevelt and Mrs. Roosevelt.  Roosevelt was president March 4, 1933 through April 12, 1945.  Judge Shepherd's photograph was taken in 1936. It is clear and detailed, obviously taken at close distance.  It includes what are likely Secret Service staff, policemen, and others crowded in and around a convertible automobile. Its a well composed and intriguing image.

The other image conveys a different mood of that troubled time in American History.  It shows a man resting outside a building entrance with a Newspaper folded over his legs.  The Headline relates to the tragic November 1938 fires in Santa Monica, California.  This photograph is titled, "Entrepreneur," is signed and dated 1938.

The remaining images left at the sale included an image of a cowboy on horseback, a firetruck, elephants, and an elderly man moving bricks in an alley.  I am trying to secure these images too to keep with the collection.

As relayed in prior posts, this collection is available for show and for sale, individually, or as a whole.  Thank you for viewing, reading, and sharing.
